USC Professor Jody David Armour moderated a panel featuring the following journalists who report on public safety and crime issues in the Southland: Keri Blakinger, Robert Greene, Anabel Munoz, Frank Stoltze. The panelists discussed how they decide what public safety stories to cover and how to cover them in today's atmosphere of heightened fear and politicization of crime. Moderator questions were developed by social justice advocates and community members impacted by crime and public safety reporting and audience members asked questions as well.
